About Preston Tucker and the 48/Torpedo to be exact.

In the movie, the first prototype was built on the chassis of another car, any idea what it was? Also, anyone know where to find a Franklin O-335 helicopter engine?

I guess Tucker’s story just hit me in a profound way, I’d just like to know that the idea of a accurate tribute/replica of a Tucker 48 is possible.

Its odd how similar Tucker’s situation and that of A.V. Ro and the Arrow. Both we’re revolutionary in their own fields of engineering, and both were killed off for being ‘too good’. The Tucker was killed by big business and government politics, and the Avro Arrow was done in in the same way.

We’re all a bit strange about the cars we love, aren’t we?
